From taste-tempting tours of area wineries to fast-paced fun at local amusement parks,
Lubbock's many attractions are sure to keep residents and visitors entertained through out
the year. In addition, Lubbock's annual calendar is filled with a variety of
festivals, celebrations, and concerts.

Buddy Holy Statue and Walk of Fame

A Larger-than-life-bronze statue serves as a tribute to rock-and-roll legend Buddy Holly,
Lubbock's Most famous son, who burst onto the national music scene in the mid-1950's with
his band, the Crickets. The Walk of Fame honors West Texans who have made
significant contributions to the entertainment industry.

With its mission-style architecture, this award-winning winery is a favorite place for
special events and gathering. Tours, tastings, and gift shop sales are available.

This unique entertainment district features a variety of live music and fabulous food.
Built in 1928 in a Spanish Renaissance revival style, the fort Worth & Denver
South Plains Railway depot was restored in 1976 to become the city's first historical
landmark. The building is currently being developed to become the home of the
Lubbock Fine Arts Center and the Buddy Holly collection. Other historical building
is the district now house the Cactus Theater, the Hub City Brewery, restaurants, a coffee
house, a sports bar, nightclubs with live music, and several artist's studios.

The foundry features the finest in bronze and silver casting mold making, wax patterns,
and pattern detailing. Group tours can be arranged with one day's advance notice and
are limited to a 20 to 25 person maximum.
Joyland amusement Park

This entertainment center features 23 rides, ranging from a water coaster and roller
coasters to family classics like the colorful carousel. The park also has food and
games.
Llano Estacado Winery
Five miles south on U.S. Hwy, 87, then 3.2 miles east of FM 1585
As the first modern Texas winery, Llano Estacado has quickly emerged as the leader of the
state's fast-growing wine industry. Complimentary tours, wine testing, and a gift
shop are available.
Lubbock Lake Landmark State Historical Park
Near the intersection of Loop 289 and Clovis Rd. (U.S. 84)
Operated as a partnership with Texas Tech University and the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department, this National Historic Landmark continues to yield evidence of ancient peoples
and extinct animals, and is the only known site in North America that contains deposits
related to all the cultures know to have existed over the last 12,000 years on the South
Plains.
The Robert Nash Interpretive Center includes exhibits, a gallery, and a children's
learning laboratory. Self-guided tours take visitors through the exhibit gallery and
down interpretive trails where, in summer, researchers work at active archaeological dig
site. Three picnic areas are available for public use.
Municipal Garden and Arts Center and Arboretum

The center, located in K.N. Clapp Park, is a gathering place for Lubbockites interested in
visual and performing arts. Visitors can see art exhibits and experience a tranquil area
showcasing trees, shrubs, vines, and ornamental plants that can be grown in the region.
Omnimax Theater and Science Spectrum

Using a 70-millimeter, multi-image projection system shown on a dome that is 58 feet in
diameter, Omnimax Theater lets visitors experience one of the most advanced and exciting
viewing sensations in the world.
A nonprofit museum for science education, the Science Spectrum is a playground for the
mind and senses. Visitors experience the thrill of learning through discovery at the
hand-on-museum, featuring Kidspace Children's Museum, the Money Center, and various
traveling exhibits throughout the year.
Pheasant Ridge Winery

This award-winning estate winery uses grapes from vineyards that were planted in 1979.

South Plains Mural

This fresco by artist Peter Hurd features 16 separate panels, each honoring a Lubbock
pioneer who contributed talent and skill to the development of the South Plains of Texas.

facility's special collections include the Rare Books Collection, the Vietnam archives,
and the archives of the now defunct Southwest Conference.

Home of the Red Raiders, Texas Tech offers visitors views of a beautiful Big 12 campus
know for its Spanish Renaissance style of architecture. Visitors can enjoy tours of

This water theme park's offerings include serpentine slides, wave pools, and adult pool, a
toddler splash pool with slide, sand volleyball courts, and picnic areas. The park
is open during the summer season.
